The Everest might not be the most familiar nameplate in North America but in Australia and Asia, this is one of the most popular SUVs on the market. Characterize by excellent off-road performances but also quite agile on the road, this model has been around since 2003. Of course, we have seen several updates so far and the current generation has been around since 2014. Moreover, it has been updated a couple of years ago. At this point, it looks like the 2021 Ford Everest won’t feature too many changes, or maybe it will?
A couple of weeks ago, the testing model has been spied and many experts suggest this could be the new Everest. At this point, we don’t have such information, and we believe the next model won’t come before the next-generation Ranger, which is expected in about two years. Therefore, the 2021 Ford Everest will probably come with minor updates only.

2021 Ford Everest Redesign
Given the expectations, the 2021 Ford Everest should carry on in the same way. This means the same overall layout, which is heavily based on the Ranger truck. The popular pickup truck has been around for almost a decade and the Everest features pretty much the same mechanics. So, we are talking about a genuine body-on-frame SUV, which isn’t a so often thing these days. Of course, the obvious advantage compared to crossovers lays in significantly better off-road performances and lots of towing and payload potential.
The Everest is also very similar to Ranger in terms of aesthetics as well. Of course, we are talking about the same front end, which has been updated a couple of years ago. It comes from the Australian department of the Blue Oval company, so the face is actually a little bit different compared to Ford’s SUVs and crossovers from other parts of the world. The best we could see for the next year are additions in terms of new color options.
Interior
One look on the dashboard and you will easily realize that this SUV has a lot in common with its truck sibling. Moreover, the dash is almost identical, which means we are talking about the cabin that’s rather practical and functional than stylish. It looks a little bit truckish, but the overall interior quality is more than decent. Moreover, the list of standard features is pretty impressive and includes lots of latest tech goodies, including an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto etc.

In terms of interior space, you may count on two pretty generous rows of seats, with plenty of leg and headroom. The third row is typical for the class of mid-size SUVs, so it’s more for kids than adults. Still, it will do the things just fine on shorter trips.
2021 Ford Everest Engines
The engine lineup will also remain the same for the 2021 Ford Everest. This means you may count on two familiar diesel options. The base engine is a good-old 3.2-liter five-cylinder turbodiesel, which is good for about 143 kW (191 horsepower) and 470 Nm (346 pound-feet of torque). This engine is robust and delivers pretty good performances. If you’re looking for something more powerful but also more efficient, you can opt for a newer 2.0-liter twin-turbo four-cylinder, which is good for about 157 kW (210 horsepower) and 500 Nm (370 pound-feet of torque). While the old five-cylinder comes in pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the bi-turbo comes with a new 10-speed automatic gearbox.

2021 Ford Everest Release Date and Price
We expect to see 2021 Ford Everest sometime late in the year. Changes in price are not expected, so base models should go around 38.000 AUD.
