While unibody crossovers dominate the global market, there are still some parts of the world where classic body-on-frame SUVs rule. India is one of these markets, so it’s no wonder that Ford, as one of the world’s major carmakers, offers a typical mid-size SUV, which is also known as Everest in Australia and a couple of more markets. This model is based on the popular Ranger pickup truck, which is about to get a complete redesign in the next year. The 2021 Ford Endeavour is also about to come with big changes, though it is still unclear whether this will be a full redesign or just a facelift.
2021 Ford Endeavour Changes
As we’ve just mentioned, it is still unclear whether we are about to see a facelift or full redesign. As you probably know, the Ranger is about to come completely redesigned in the next year. The 2021 Ford Endeavour test mule has been spotted as well. However, keep in mind that this SUV is much younger and that the current generation has been around since 2015. Therefore, we presume this would rather be a mid-cycle refresh and that the current generation will remain in production for some more time.
The test model has been spotted on the roads of China and we can clearly see camouflaged front end, while the rear end comes with some cover as well. When it comes to the front end, we presume a lot of inspiration will be taken from the brand’s latest design language, from models like the new Explorer. Of course, we count on a couple of exclusive details as well. The rear end will also come with a couple of novelties, while we also count on typical mid-cycle updates, such as new wheels, color options and similar things.
Changes on the inside are possible as well. Still, if this is going to be a facelift, we probably won’t see more significant changes. A couple of tweaks on the dashboard are possible, but the overall layout will certainly remain the same. That means we may count on a relatively spacious cabin, which comes with three rows of seats. Typically for the class of mid-size SUVs, the third row isn’t very generous in terms of space. The cargo area, on the other side, features pretty decent numbers.
Naturally, the list of novelties for the next year will probably be about new standard features. We count on additions in terms of tech goodies, but some advanced safety and driver-assistance features could be among novelties as well.
2021 Ford Endeavour Engines
When it comes to the powertrain, the current model comes with a familiar 2.0-liter turbodiesel, which is good for about 170 horsepower and 420 Nm. This engine will certainly carry on for the next year, but some reports suggest a gasoline version could be offered as well. Some sources suggest a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo-four, the same one that powers the North American Ranger and delivers around 270 horsepower. Others suggest that the Blue Oval company could pick something smaller, something like a 2.0-liter with around 250 horsepower. In any case, we have no doubt that this version would be reserved for higher trim levels only. At this point, the company is still quiet on this matter.
2021 Ford Endeavour Release Date and Price
Considering that the 2021 Ford Endeavour is about to come with notable updates, we presume it will hit the market a little bit earlier than usual. The third half of the year sounds quite likely. When it comes to the price, we don’t expect significant changes compared to the current model, which goes in a range between 29.55 – 33.25 Lakh, roughly. Translated to US dollars, that would go around 39.000 for the base model.
