If you’re living in North America and you want to get this good-looking sedan you better hurry because this is the final year of the Regal in North America. After years of production, the legendary nameplate will be dropped, in favor of new crossovers. Still, that doesn’t mean 2021 Buick Regal won’t be in production. As you may presume, the model will continue in other parts of the world, particularly in China, which has been the brand’s key market for years. Moreover, we are about to see a facelift, which will bring a couple of interesting novelties, particularly in terms of styling. The new version will hit the market in the second half of the year.

2021 Buick Regal Redesign
In terms of base design characteristics, nothing will change. The 2021 Buick Regal will continue as Opel Insignia-based mid-size sedan, as the two models were developed at the time when Opel was still a part of GM. The Regal is nothing more than a rebadged version, which features pretty much identical styling in all aspects.
As we already mentioned, the 2021 Buick Regal will get a facelift. For this occasion, we are about to see various interesting changes, particularly in terms of the styling, where the new model is about to come with novelties on both ends. The front fascia will include new headlights, grille and more. The rear end will come with interesting changes as well, particularly in terms of new taillights, exhaust pipes etc.
On the other side, the mechanical aspect of the car will remain the same, which means you may count the same smooth ride quality. This model features quite responsive steering, but it also features a suspension setup that is designed in such a manner that you will enjoy the comfort of this car but won’t find it very fun to drive.
Interior
Most likely, the upcoming update won’t bring novelties on the inside. The 2021 Buick Regal is about to carry on with a familiar cabin, which has both strong and weak points. When it comes to strong points, we particularly like the amount of space this model offers. There is plenty of legroom in both rows, while the second row is also quite generous in terms of the headroom. Also, the cargo area is one of the biggest in the class, as you may count on more than 30 cubic feet behind the second row.

On the other side, we don’t like the interior quality. It’s not bad if you don’t look at Buick as a premium brand but when you see the price tag, you definitely wouldn’t expect hard plastics and similar cheap-looking materials inside the cabin. Moreover, most cheaper rivals feature nicer cabins.
Features
This update might bring novelties in terms of the standard equipment. Still, keep in mind that the current model already seems quite okay, so we don’t expect that much from the 2021 Buick Regal. The current model comes standard with things like a 7-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, four USB ports, a seven-speaker stereo, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. On the other side, higher trims are equipped with things like an 8-inch touch screen, a navigation system, an eight-speaker Bose stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio, wireless device charging, and a moonroof.
On the other side, we would like to see significant improvements in terms of safety for the next year, as the current model comes with a rearview camera only. When it comes to potential additions to the list of standard equipment, the list is pretty long, as the current model comes with so many optional features, such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear and front parking sensors, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane change alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, the following distance indicator, adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, adaptive headlights, and automatic high beams.

2021 Buick Regal Engines
Considering that the 2021 Buick Regal will carry on in China only, the engine lineup won’t consist of a large V6 engine, but rather just of turbocharged options. There is a new 1.3-liter engine, which is about to replace the current 1.5-liter turbo-four unit. Unfortunately, the exact numbers are still unavailable. On the other side, the optional 2.0-liter turbo-four will carry on in the same way, with a max output of 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Both engines will come in pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Also, there is a hybrid version in this market. It is a system based on a 1.8-liter engine, which is good for about 180 horsepower.
2021 Buick Regal Release Date and Price
We expect to see 2021 Buick Regal in China sometime in the second half of the year. Base models will go around 30.000 dollars.
