2021 Jeep Scrambler Single Cab

2021 Jeep Scrambler 2 Door, Rumors and Expectations

The all-new Gladiator has been around for a while and while it’s still in the process of establishing a good position on the market, many reports speculate about another novelty, the 2021 Jeep Scrambler. If you’re not familiar with this nameplate, Jeep used it in the ‘80s. Moreover, many experts suggested this nameplate for the new, Wrangler-based pickup. Eventually, that didn’t happen. Nowadays, we are hearing different stories about this nameplate, which suggest different kinds of scenarios.

According to some sources, the 2021 Jeep Scrambler could come as a special version of the Gladiator, though it is hard to say what kind of special version we are talking about. On the other side, many suggest this name for the single cab model, which also makes some sense. However, the company is still quiet on this matter. So, our suggestion would be to take the following paragraphs with a big reserve.

2021 Jeep Scrambler Redesign

As we’ve just mentioned, a lot of opposite reports can be found about the 2021 Jeep Scrambler. At first, many believed that this is the name for Jeep’s new pickup truck. Eventually, it ended up as the Gladiator, so car enthusiasts came up with new theories. One of the suggest that this would be a special version of the truck. However, it’s hard to say what kind of version is about, considering that the Gladiator already comes in a variety of different variants. Besides standard models, there is also Rubicon trim level, as well as the upcoming Mojave, all designed as some kind of special, off-road performance models. That’s why this theory doesn’t sound very likely to us.

On the other side, the story that makes some sense is the one that suggests this could be a name for a workhorse version of the pickup truck. Currently, Gladiator comes only as a double, or crew cab pickup truck. On the other side, the 2021 Jeep Scrambler would come as a single cab version. That’s something you can’t currently get from FCA, but only as a custom version of Wrangler. If this happens, we have no doubt, that the new version would stick closely to the Gladiator’s design solutions. Mechanics are expected to remain pretty much the same, as well as aesthetics. Count on a recognizable Wrangler-based styling, just in a single cab layout, with smaller cab and longer cargo bed.

Interior

If we take that the 2021 Jeep Scrambler is coming as a single cab version of Gladiator, it’s not hard to presume that the most obvious difference from the inside would be the lack of the second row. On the other side, the dashboard design would look pretty much the same and that’s not a bad thing at all. We are talking about a nice-looking dash, which offers solid overall quality, attractive aesthetics and good ergonomics.

The list of standard equipment should be pretty long as well. If we look at the current Gladiator, it comes with goodies like a 5-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker audio system, two USB ports, and Bluetooth. Of course, the list of options is much longer. It includes goodies like forward-facing off-road camera, a 7- or 8.4-inch touch screen, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, satellite radio, navigation (included with the 8.4-inch screen), a removable Bluetooth wireless speaker, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and additional USB ports.

When it comes to safety features, a rearview camera is the only standard safety feature. Additionally, you can get goodies like blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.

2021 Jeep Scrambler Engines

This aspect definitely won’t bring any surprises. Therefore, you may count that the base model will come with a well-known 3.6-liter V6 engine. It puts out around 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A 6-speed manual is a standard transmission, while an 8-speed automatic is available. Also, we count on a diesel version. This one would come with a well-known 3.0-liter V6, which is good for about 240 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.  Some sources also suggest a new turbo-four, which can be found in the Wrangler. Although it offers similar numbers as the V6, it actually works better and, more importantly, it offers a better fuel economy.

2021 Jeep Scrambler Release Date and Price

The 2021 Jeep Scrambler is just a rumor at the moment. However, many reports suggest it may come already in the next year. When it comes to the price, we presume that base versions would under 30.000 dollars, though it’s still early for more precise numbers.
