2021 Dodge Power Wagon Might Come In Diesel Version!?

The current generation of the HD truck has been around for less than two years and some reports are already suggesting updates. These rumors include the capable off-roader 2021 Dodge Power Wagon as well. According to them, we might see a couple of new things on this model as well. The company is still quiet, but there’s a chance to see a diesel version of this off-roader. Moreover, we could also see some new visual packages, something similar to new Black Wheels that came with the 2020 model.

Despite the updates, things will remain essentially the same. This model comes with various upgrades compared to standard versions, both in terms of mechanics and aesthetics. Currently, this truck is available with a gasoline engine only, but we might see changes already in the 2021 Dodge Power Wagon. When it comes to the launch date, we expect it will be scheduled for a typical time of year, sometime in the last quarter.

2021 Dodge Power Wagon Changes

When it comes to possible changes, we could see some of them, in various aspects. The first one that comes to mind is a diesel option. Currently, this version comes with a gasoline engine only, but this could change soon, as many reports suggest a diesel version for the next year. Of course, we count on a familiar 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel, which is good for about 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque. A more powerful, 1.000-lb-ft version will probably remain reserved for 3500 models. Along with the diesel engine, count on a six-speed automatic transmission.

Other than the new engine option, we could see a couple of styling tweaks. As you know, the current model came with new black wheels. For the next year, we could see a couple of visual updates as well. Also, a couple of additions to the list of standard interior equipment may come as well.

2021 Dodge Power Wagon Redesign

In terms of base design characteristics, this model is based on standard 2500HD series. However, it comes with various upgrades as well. Of course, you can notice various styling tweaks first. This model comes with a blacked grille design, while many other areas on the truck feature black plastic surfaces as well, in order to accentuate the model’s off-road character. Of course, there are exclusive wheels, all-terrain tires and many other details.

However, the core of this model is actually a large number of mechanical upgrades. This model comes with plenty of them. First of all, there are goodies like off-road shock absorbers, tow hooks, skid plates, a manual transfer case, electronically locking differentials with a 4.10 axle ratio, hill descent control, an integrated front winch and many more. Also, you may count on all-terrain tires, as we already mentioned.

On the inside, this version doesn’t come with any particular differences compared to the rest of the lineup. While the exterior features various exclusive styling details, the cabin looks largely the same. That’s not a bad thing at all. Moreover, this truck features the fines cabin in the class, characterized by amazing aesthetics and impressive quality. You can count on lots of soft-touch materials and other commodities, while we particularly like the fact that there is a full load of tech goodies in the offer.

Of course, this includes the large, vertically-positioned touchscreen as well, which is available. A smaller 8.4-inch unit comes standard. Of course, you may count on smartphone integration and all other goodies with this one, including premium audio system, HD Radio and many other things.

2021 Dodge Power Wagon Engines

As we already mentioned, there is a big chance to see the new 2021 Dodge Power Wagon in the diesel version. However, we are still waiting to hear something from the officials on this matter. Currently, the company is pretty quiet.

On the other side, the current gasoline version will carry on in the same way. Therefore, you may count on a well-known 6.4-liter V8 engine, which comes with a max output of 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. The engine comes in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which delivers power to all wheels. This is the only Ram 2500HD that comes standard with a 4WD drive system.  Driving dynamics are pretty amazing, though not at Raptor’s level. On the other side, this is a pretty capable pickup truck. For example, max towing capacity goes all-away up to 19.780 pounds, while the payload capacity goes to almost 4.000 pounds. Those are pretty respectable numbers.
